#DOK

A DOK, short for Distrikt-Kenner, is a local club district code used in the German amateur radio structure. It consists of a letter followed by digits, and in some contests German stations send it as part of the exchange. Because the code is short and mixes letters with digits, it is easy to mishear under noise and easy to enter wrongly. A mistaken character often produces another valid code, so the error may not be visible to a simple format check. The best protection is careful copying, a repeat when in doubt and a quick look at the entry before it is confirmed. The articles under this tag explain what a DOK is and how to log it accurately.
