#Stew Perry
The Stew Perry Topband Distance Challenge is a CW contest on the 160-metre band in which the exchange is a grid locator and the value of a contact depends on the distance between the stations. It rewards long paths and good receiving conditions rather than the number of zones or countries worked. Your own locator is a fixed part of the log, so it must be checked before the contest begins. The sponsor’s rules define the categories, the period and the scoring formula, and these should always be read in their current form. The articles under this tag explain the idea of the contest in general terms and show how to log locators carefully. They also show how distance and beam heading statistics can be read after the event.
