#Hour-by-Hour Analysis

Hour-by-hour analysis is the practice of reading a contest log as a grid of hours against bands, with the number of QSOs in each cell. It shows peaks, gaps, the route between bands and the effect of breaks on the rate. Combined with multipliers, continents and questioned QSOs by hour, it explains much of why a contest went the way it did. The articles under this tag describe how to read the grid, how to separate planned rest from lost time and how to turn what you see into a short plan for the next contest. Comparing sheets from different years makes the method even more useful.
