#Dupes

A dupe is a repeat contact with a station already worked in the same contest, on the same band and in the same mode. It is a real QSO and not a log error, but in most contests it earns no extra points. Experienced contesters usually work a doubtful dupe rather than refuse it, because the cost is seconds while a refusal can cost a valid contact. This tag gathers articles on dupe checking, dupes in multi-operator and SO2R setups, and the difference between a dupe and a QSO entered twice. The posts point to each contest’s rules for how repeats are scored.
